The Skaprifischer play the music they like: Traditional Jamaican Ska, Northern Soul and Reggae. They are a club band and prefer to perform for the local scene. Since 2003, more than a hundred concerts were played. Open for performances abroad!

The Skaprifischer are an enthusiastic and authentic Ska band rooted in Dresden, Saxony. They play the music they like: Traditional Jamaican Ska, Northern Soul, Reggae – mixed up from own compositions, cover songs and translated lyrics. The band sings German, English, Italian and Sorbian, but plays also instrumentals. After foundation in 2003, it took nine years to find the ultimate lineup. Finally, it consists of a lady and eight gentlemen, including five of the founding members.
The music is heavily influenced from heroes of the sixties, but the musicians have a wider background including Jazz, Punk, Swing, Gospel, Rock, Pop and traditional folk music. What is the result? The Skaprifischer sound!
Both the band's name and logo are derived from “Die Capri-Fischer“ (Fishermen of Capri), a German hit-single from the fifties. The title of the first album “Frischer Aspik“ (fresh aspic) is an anagram to the band's name. The record was released in 2010 on vinyl and MP3 and contains Reggae and Ska covers of Northern Soul classics, own compositions and Ska instrumentals. In 2012, Skaprifischer recorded a CD with versions of German and English christmas songs in Jamaican style, “Das Weihnachtsalbum – Live in Neuhausen“. Currently, the band works on a new album.
The Skaprifischer are a club band and prefer to perform for the local scene. To increase the band's finances, they also play wedding and funeral gigs. The band looks back to about a hundred concerts on local and transregional stages.
